Women’s Country-City clash to kick-off this weekend

Updated: May 11, 2017

The best female Rugby League players from across regional NSW will have the opportunity to push their case for selection in the NSW Women’s Interstate team when the Women’s Country-City clash kicks-off at North Sydney Oval this weekend.

With almost 50% of all nationally registered female players playing in CRL tackle and tag competitions, the exciting joint-initiative between Country and New South Wales Rugby League provides a unique pathway and opportunity for regional players to experience representative football.

The final teams, which exclude those who represented the Australian Jillaroos in last Friday’s win over New Zealand, feature some of the most exciting up and coming players in the Women’s game and will pit the best regional players against the best from the Sydney Metropolitan competition.

The match will kick-off at 1:00pm on Sunday, 14th May and will be followed by the Round 10 Intrust Super Premiership match between the North Sydney Bears and Newtown Jets.
