Where There’s A Will – A Day To Remember For Group 21

Updated: August 18, 2017

Rivalries spanning decades were put on hold over the weekend, with the inaugural Where There’s a Will foundation round uniting the Group 21 Rugby League community.

The Scone Thoroughbreds, Merriwa Magpies, Aberdeen Tigers, Muswellbrook Rams, Singleton Greyhounds, Denman Devils, Greta Branxton Colts and Murrurundi Mavericks donned specially designed ‘Where There’s a Will’ foundation jerseys to raise funds and awareness to support work to reduce suicide rates and improve mental wellbeing across the Upper Hunter.

CRL TV caught up with NRL CEO Todd Greenberg and Where There’s a Will Founders Pauline and Hilton Carrigan at the Where There’s a Will Foundation Cup match between Scone and Muswellbrook.

The Where There’s A Will foundation was created by the Carrigan family from Bunnan, who were spurred into action after tragically losing their 24-year-old son and Scone Thoroughbreds player Will Carrigan to suicide on Christmas Day 2015.
