Country Rugby League is mourning the passing of Michael Conliffe, who passed away aged 82.

Michael ‘Mick’ Conliffe was a Dunedoo Swan through and through, furthermore he was a champion for his local community dedicating over half a century of service to ensuring that football and the town was thriving for the next generation.

Mick was a life member of the Dunedoo Swans and was on the committee for 53 years, still serving until his passing. He had also previously served on the committee for Group 14 – now Castlereagh League.

He was the driving force behind the local football club, actively supporting both junior league and netball, senior league and particularly enjoying the recently introduced ladies league tag. In his playing day, Mick played for the Swans as a speedy centre & wing.  Mick was also a loyal Manly Sea Eagles supporter.

Mick was passionate about his local community. He was a retained fire fighter for 30 years.  He also gave blood all his life – green and white it may have been.

Mick will be sadly missed by both the Dunedoo Football Club and the local community.
