Country Rugby League is mourning the passing of former St George winger Eddie Lumsden.

A Grand Final hero with the Dragons, Lumsden passed away on the morning of the 2019 Premiership decider.

Mr Lumsden was a Kurri Kurri Junior and a Country Rugby League selector for many years.

He also played 19 games for New South Wales and 15 Tests for Australia over the course of his career. He also played briefly with Manly-Warringah.

He was a prolific try-scorer. In fact, his try-scoring almost kept pace with the number of games he played. He will be remembered as one of the greatest wingers of his era.

Country Rugby League Chief Executive Officer Terry Quinn said: “The former St George great was held in high esteem by everyone in Country Rugby League and we offer our sincerest condolences to Eddie’s family and friends.”
