Position Available: Community Engagement Sports Officer

Country Rugby League are seeking expressions of interest for a Community Engagement Sports Officer servicing the Far West of New South Wales, which will be based in the CRL’s Dubbo Office.


The Community Engagement Sport Officer will:

  • Have an understanding of the issues affecting people in the community.
  • Be able to demonstrate their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Have demonstrated cultural competency, including skills in understanding and effectively interacting with the wider community.
  • Have a genuine interest in rugby league and understand the significant role the game plays in the community.
  • Ideally have experience in the management of a community sporting club or organization as a volunteer.
  • Be able to demonstrate an adequate level of computer skills.


Community Engagement Sport Officer Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improve club capacity with particular focus on administration and operations.
  • Help clubs build morale and community spirit through rugby league.
  • Support the identification and attraction of community volunteers to the clubs.
  • Support the identification and attraction of referees for local competitions.
  • Support local administration in operating rugby league competitions as directed by the CRL Regional Manager.
  • Coordinate junior gala days in Barwon Darling communities.
  • Build and maintain strong networks in local communities.
  • Work with and have ongoing engagement with other service providers to establish a calendar of community club events that they can attend to deliver services and engage with the general public.
  • Work with rugby league clubs, communities and service providers that form partnerships with our sport.


Employment Conditions:

  • Remuneration will be in accordance with the CRL policy.
  • Competitive Remuneration (depending on level of experience and qualification)
  • Employer contributions to superannuation.
  • Hours of work – ordinary hours of work shall be 38 hours per week, performed between Monday and Friday, plus reasonable additional hours required to fulfill the requirements of the job.
  • All successful applicants will be required to have a mandatory Working with Children background check.
  • Full driver’s license.
