The Macquarie Scorpions and Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles will go head-to-head this weekend in the opening game of the NSW Challenge Cup at Lyall Peacock Oval, Toronto.

The Scorpions and Sea Eagles will join the South Newcastle Lions, Wests Devils, Helensburgh Tigers, Guildford Owls, Auburn Warriors and Concord-Burwood-Glebe Wolves in the inaugural tournament; with the Grand Final to be played as the curtain-raiser to the final Country v Origin clash in Mudgee in May.

The remaining Round One matches will be played on Wednesday night with South Newcastle taking on Concord-Burwood-Glebe at, Helensburgh facing off with Guildford at McCreadie Oval and Wests playing Auburn at Parish Park, Figtree.

All matches will be played in four twenty-minute quarters, with unlimited interchange and squads of twenty players.

Round Two matches will be played on Wednesday, 12th April.
