Following five consecutive years of player growth including breaking through the magic 2000 participant barrier in 2019, Newcastle & Hunter Community Rugby League will introduce an over 35’s Mixed League Tag competition in 2020.

Currently boasting 38 clubs, who provide 40 mens teams, 18 Ladies League Tag and six Womens Tackle teams competing across 9 grades, the Mixed Tag program is seen as the next progression in the NHCRL’s endeavour to provide competition environments, where everyone is welcome, and their contribution is respected.

“The introduction of Ladies League Tag has added a new dimension to those clubs participating. Its healthy activity, its competitive and its fun – its galvanising and invigorating families, clubs and local communities. We expect over 35s Mixed League Tag to further enhance social inclusion” said NHCRL Administrator Dave Wild.

Games will be played over 2 x 25 minute halves, teams will consist of 11 players of which there is always to be a minimum of 4 women on the field, and 5 Reserves with unlimited Interchange.

Prospective entrants are encouraged to forward their Expressions of Interest, to dwild@crlnsw.com.au at the earliest opportunity.
