New Sponsorship for Illawarra Women’s League

The Illawarra Division Rugby League (IDRL) and Inspirations Paint (Warilla and Nowra) has today announced a three-year partnership of women’s Rugby League in the region, commencing with the 2017 season.

The partnership is recognition for the expanding reach of women’s participation in Rugby League across the region, and will encompass all levels of the women’s game including:

  • Major sponsorship of the Illawarra Steelers team in the Tarsha Gale u18 9’s competition
  • Naming rights sponsorship of the Illawarra Women’s League competitions in open age and under 18s, to be known as the “Inspirations Paint Illawarra Women’s League”

“We are so proud to support women’s Rugby League and look forward to helping the Inspirations Paint Illawarra Women’s League build on its success over the next three years,”said Nick Marsh Inspirations Paint Warilla.

“We are all about providing inspiration for our customers and it is really rewarding to be able to play a part in providing a pathway to the elite level for aspiring young girls as well.”

Illawarra Division Rugby League Manager Chris Bannerman believes it’s a great time for Women to be a part of Rugby League.

“We are incredibly pleased to have Inspirations Paint Warilla and Nowra partner with us to support women’s Rugby League in the region,” sadi Bannerman.

“With teams now based from Helensburgh to Batemans Bay playing in our open age competition, and four clubs committing to entering teams in our inaugural under 18s competition, this is a great time in the development in women’s Rugby League, and even more so in this region.

“Support like this from Inspirations Paint will assist us to provide the required resources to deliver our programs across our own competitions and also in the expanding representative pathways.

“We witnessed some amazing new talent at the Corrimal 9’s on the weekend and I encourage young girls 16 and over from Batemans Bay to Helensburgh to get active and become involved in our new under 18s competition, which will provide females in this region with the most comprehensive Rugby League program in New South Wales.”
