The Cooma Stallions ended a 23-year Premiership drought and four clubs walked away with titles on a memorable Group 16 Grand Final Day at Bega Recreational Showground.

The Stallions capped off their undefeated season by defeating the Bombala Blue Heelers 38-18 in a hard-fought Grand Final which saw Karl Filiga named Man of the Match.

Despite their loss in First Grade, the Blue Heelers found some joy in the day with their Ladies League Tag side claiming an exciting 10-6 victory over the Moruya Sharkettes after almost 30 minutes of extra-time.

The Sharkettes looked to have claimed the title before conceding a penalty on the full-time siren which allowed Bombala the opportunity to kick a penalty goal after the siren to level the game. Amy Stone of the Blue Heelers was named Player of the Match.

The Bega Roosters gave their home-town fans something to cheer about with their reserve grade side claiming a dominant 42-12 victory over the Candelo-Bemboka Panthers; whilst Merimbula Pambula claimed the U18’s title with a four-point victory over the Batemans Bay Tigers.
