CRL Women’s Northern v Southern Trial: Team Lists

Some of Australia’s best female rugby league players, including seven current Jillaroos, are set to go head-to-head for the opportunity to represent NSW Country and take their first step towards potential NSW State of Origin and Jillaroos jerseys.
The likes of Nakia Davis Welsh, Isabelle Kelly and Ruan Sims have been selected to represent Northern and Southern Country for selection in the CRL Women’s Representative Team that will contest the new National Women’s Championships.
The CRL Northern and Southern Women’s Trial represents another step in the sequential pathway for female players to progress from local competitions to the elite level and will feature, alongside current Jillaroos and NRL Elite Level Representatives, some of the brightest young talent from across Regional NSW.
Country Rugby League CEO Terry Quinn believes the high level of talent selected for the trial is testament to the strength of the game in Regional NSW.
“It’s a fantastic time for women’s rugby league and having seven current Jillaroos trialling for Country Representative jerseys is a strong indication of the talent coming from Regional NSW,” said Quinn.
“It’s also been great to see how many girls are waiting in the wings for their opportunity to progress along the pathway and some of those players will get their opportunity in the Northern and Southern Trial.”
The CRL Northern and Southern Women’s Trial will be played alongside CRL’s Junior Representative Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup Finals on Saturday, 14th April at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Regional Sports Stadium and will be live streamed on CRL’s facebook page and crlnsw.com.au from 10:30am.
