In light of the extreme heat predicted for tomorrow, and in keeping in line with the CRL and NRL Heat Guidelines, the scheduled trials between Greater Southern and Bidgee Bulls in Canberra and the Western Rams and Newcastle Knights in Toronto have been cancelled.

Consultation has been undertaken with all Stakeholders and this solution is best to accommodate parents and players needs including their travel arrangements.

Greater Southern Regional Area Manager Kevin Felgate expressed his disappointment but highlighed the necessity of player welfare.

β€œWith the likely heatwave predicted for Saturday and even with extra and extended drink breaks, I feel competing would not be the best for our players,” said Felgate

“Naturally their welfare must take precedent. We will be working later this afternoon on an alternate trial scheduled for next week and details will be posted on Team Apps, websites and social media once confirmed.”

Matches were scheduled for 1.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.00pm and 4.00pm in the Under 16 and Under 18 age group.
