CRL Announce Partnership with Anytime Fitness

Updated: November 24, 2016

The brightest young talent in Country Rugby League will now have access to the best facilities for strength and conditioning in an exciting new partnership with Anytime Fitness.

In a strong show of support for the CRL’s Academy Program, 400 Under-16 and 18 Country Championship squad members will now receive free specialised Anytime Fitness memberships to complete the strength and conditioning components of their academy training programs.

CRL High Performance Manager Matt Parish believes the new partnership is a wonderful opportunity for regional players to prepare for the next stage of their footballing careers, wherever it may take them.

“The CRL Academy Program is about providing kids with the opportunity to be the best that they can be, whether that’s playing for their hometown or playing with their Under 16 and 18 representative sides.

“For Anytime Fitness to come on board and offer their support to our program is a wonderful endorsement of what we’re trying to achieve.

“When comparing young players from regional and metropolitan areas, the main difference we identified between them was strength and conditioning and now with the support of Anytime Fitness, our players will have the best facilities at their disposal.”

Anytime Fitness Head of Operations Gordon Martin believes the partnership aligns with the goals of Anytime Fitness.

“We saw a link with Country Rugby League’s goals, especially around community and fitness,” said Martin.

“With over 440 clubs across Australia, we have a fitness community that is 500,000 strong and are thrilled to offer these players an opportunity to get fit with us, knowing that they’re a part of that community.

“The work of CRL resonated with us here at Anytime Fitness and we know the partnership will help the team continue their great efforts.”

CRL CEO Terry Quinn believes the partnership with Anytime Fitness will allow the CRL Academy Program to go to the next level.

“The program that Matt (Parish) has been running has been very well received and has allowed our players, coaches and trainers to improve their performance both on and off the field.

“The addition of the wonderful facilities that Anytime Fitness provides to many towns across regional NSW is another step forward and we’re very proud to offer their services to our Academy Program.”

The 2017 CRL Under-16 and 18 Country Championships kicks off in March.
